Mosaics are therapeutic on multiple levels.

People who have difficulty with fine or gross motor skills, as when affected by a stroke or head injury, can benefit by using the affected arm or hand to facilitate improved function by manipulating the tesserae during the creation of a mosaic.

Those recovering from recent joint replacement will benefit when the activity is set up in a standing/weight bearing position.

People with low vision often times benefit when the environment is set up utilizing contrast with color and shape.

Increase in functional endurance/tolerance is gained when engaging in activity for graduated lengths of time thereby facilitating strength in those with general debility.

"I believe we are creative beings by nature and to create is therapeutic for our soul." Linda Vaden-Martin
